Druzhba Motel

Overview

The Druzhba Motel is a hotel for hauliers, truck drivers and, considering the possibility to rent any room for only half of a day, for other men purposes. It is a typical Soviet Union hotel, rooms had not been touched for 30 years and only some had been renovated. The motel staff is always right, rude, careless and speak no foreign languages at all.

The Druzhba hotel is a wonderful motel which found its place at the bank of the picturesque lake, surrounded by scenic nature. It has different rooms equipped with everything needed for a comfortable staying. Restaurant of the hotel is a pleasant spacious place where you will receive high-level service. Also there is a big parking which can receive even huge tracks.

Our Review

Entering this hotel you enter Soviet Union in the same time. Nothing has changed since at least 1980s. The three stars this motel has are rather sad dimmed stars. There are some renovations going on at the moment in a hotel but I would not recommend staying in a category of rooms lower than a semi-lux, as here you get at least an a/c and relatively new furniture. Don’t expect anyone to talk English (very unlikely but possible) and what is more important don’t expect to be welcomed. It is a Russian way of treating customers which has not changed at this place since USSR.

Booking Fee: Lux or Semi-lux room - 150 UAH (Renewed room – 130 UAH).

The restaurant of the Motel Druzhba is a wonderful cozy place ideal for relaxing breakfast, dinner and supper. Here you have a great opportunity to taste delicious Ukrainian and Russian cuisine cooked by our chefs… so they say. We say it is a great opportunity to see the reality of Ukraine and its’ cuisine and to taste simple food which is working class of Ukraine got used to.

Location / Transportation

The Druzhba motel is located about 3 km away from the airport, 5 km from the Metalist stadium and about 7 km away from the city centre on the side of one of the busiest roads in Kharkov. Presence of a car is a must; there is also a possibility to catch a marshrutka to the nearest metro station.
